Using the effects to change the position of the image within the original image, and adding change to the height and width, created a representation that the smoke was moving. More changes need to be made but I am happy with this start.
This idea is in its basic form, it is made up of simple text (American Typewriter), with a fade and a blur. The background was createdin photoshop and imported in.
I see this as simply the foundation to the ident, my plan is to add some smoke or maybe flame to give a better feel.
Fireball clip added at the begining, again this had to be keyed, and duplicated to get the expanse. An orange, flickering vinette has been added as well, however, i am still undecided about whether this works or not.
The idea of the a new wall was more of a solution than an original idea. The orignial plan was to have the ‘crime’ shatter away through the middle of the title however, this did not have the look that I was hoping for. So my solution is to have a new wall fall down (need to add some shake to this) and then for the crime shatter sequence to take place.
I need to edit out the beer jug sequence as well as this does not work.
This clip is a representation of the outcome of my thought process from the first bullet wall video. I applied the theory I used in that video (that simply spelt out ‘Crime’) to the show real. Each title of show is shown with the correct font and My feeling at the moment is to add another type of visual imagry to support the title. It is shown here on one title, with the image of a beer jug representing ‘Inspector Morse’. I would like to use a different shot type for each programme listed. The plan being that at the end the sound effects added will bring this to life.
(The shatter effect is created using a shatter effect on the title, using a glass shatter, then the title is duplicated so that there is a texture of the background. Moving the position of the shatter from lift to right creates a periodic shatter {amending the gravity allows the pieces to fall downwards instead of expanding out}. Laying the textured shatter over the title shatter allows for the shatter to match in with the image of the wall)
This camera worked better, I preferred the outcome of this. The text was not explaned so the dimensions were back in proportion, and I believe the overall look was an improvement on the last clip.
After finding text effects and smoke effects that worked well together I next wanted to test out some differing camera effects to see the kind of outcomes and looks that they would give.
With this camera effect it gave the text a bit more depth, in a way, but I was not completely happy with the expansion to the dimensions that occured. There was something about this view that I felt did not quite work.
